First Review of Magical Mea is up on Amazon

Review of Magical Mea, May 26, 2013
This review is from: Magical Mea (Paperback)
In some ways, Mea is a typical little sister - not wanting her big brother Matthew to tell her what to do. But in other ways, she is totally unique because of her magical powers. In "Magical Mea," the second book in author Penelope Cole's Magical series, Mea uses her magic to play pranks on people and refuses to change her ways when Matthew and her grandmother encourage her to do so. When Mea runs away, Matthew and his friend Lily realize why she persists in misusing her magic, and they resolve to find her before she really gets into trouble. In the end, Mea does the right thing without Matthew's assistance or prodding, and they all look like heroes.

Many children wonder about what they would do with their magical powers if they had any, and "Magical Mea" offers them a glimpse into why someone with these powers might not use them wisely. As they follow Mea's adventure, issues of safety, social responsibility, and the ability of people to overcome less-than-positive behaviors also emerge. When kids read the story, they will be focused on the actions of the characters, but they will also be learning about these important issues. This makes "Magical Mea" a story that not only entertains, but also encourages kids to think about the consequences of their behavior.
